Goals The enthusiastic and effective student will learn
  HISTORY OF FLORAL DESIGN
  FEATURE FLOWERS
  FRESH FLOWER CARE
  ART PRINCIPLES / ELEMENTS relating to floral design
  MANY DESIGN STYLES such as corsages, boutonnieres, the main styles of design such as line, line mass, mass, centerpieces, dried designs
  DRIED / PRESERVING TECHNIQUES
  EXPRESSION
Grading Lecture exams ( 2 ) 30%    
Lab Quizzes ( 7 ) 70%
Each lab quiz is a graded floral design completed during the lab period.
A+ = 98-100 A = 92-97.9 A- = 90-91.9
B+ = 88-89.9 B = 82-87.9 B- = 80-81.9
C+ = 78-79.9 C = 72-77.9 C- = 70-71.9
D+ = 68-69.9 D = 62-67.9 D- = 60-61.9
Absences Except for illness or other serious matter, exams and quizzes cannot be made up. However, in case of illness, or other important matter, YOU MUST E-MAIL (dnoland@illinois.edu) OR PHONE ME WITHIN 24 HOURS. Phone me at 217-333-8074. In case of interviewing, come to another lab that week. If it's last minute, come to another lab anyway. Please don't make this a habit because each lab can only comfortably hold 30 students. If visiting another lab, wait to be seated and wait to get your shears and supplies/flowers etc..
