Gerbera Daisy

A large, single daisy flower borne on a pubescent, leafless, hollow stem; it is a thick petaled single or double daisy with blending or contrasting centers

Colors  Various colors, such as white, cream, yellow, orange, salmon, red, pink, purple, and bicolors; the center of the flower can be dark or light
Availability  Year round
Vase life  Short (lasts longer in a vase arrangement than in foam)
Care and handling  First Step Technique; do not fill the container with too much water because the pubescence on the stem will sluff off and clog the stem
Design tips  Gerberas provide mass, color, and a focal point; they can also brighten any arrangement that needs a bold accent
